About us

Bakery software built inside a working bakery

Bakery Dashboard is made by Crusted Bakery Inc, a retail bakery in New York. It was built to run that bakery, and the bakery still runs on it. It is now offered to other food businesses as well.

Why a bakery wrote its own software

Running a bakery means keeping several sets of numbers in agreement: what each recipe costs as flour and butter prices move, what is in the store room and the freezer, what to bake tomorrow for each shop and wholesale account, what is about to expire, and what is actually left once it all sells.

A spreadsheet can do every one of those sums. What it cannot do is keep them agreeing with each other, so a price change in the costing sheet never reaches the margin on the sales tab, and nobody notices for a month. Bakery Dashboard keeps all of it in one place, so a change made once shows up everywhere it matters.

    What it does

    • Costs every recipe down to the gram, including nested recipes, labour and overhead. More on recipe costing
    • Tracks ingredient stock, finished goods, freezer counts and what is about to expire. More on inventory
    • Builds the daily production list from real demand, with printable bake lists. More on production planning
    • Runs wholesale accounts: per-store targets, delivery runs and invoices. More on wholesale
    • Prints Nutrition Facts panels and ingredient statements for packaged food.
    • Keeps a live profit-and-loss that moves as costs and sales come in.

    Who it is for

Bakeries first, because that is where it was built, but nothing inside assumes bread. Delis, caterers, commissary kitchens and small food manufacturers do the same arithmetic on different units, and the app handles weight, volume and count with the conversions built in. If you run a food business that has outgrown its spreadsheets, it is for you.

What it is not: an ERP. There is no lot traceability, no HACCP record-keeping and no supplier-audit module, so a recall plan or a certification audit still needs a system of its own.

    How it is sold

One flat plan with everything in it, paid monthly or annually; annual works out cheaper per month. Current prices are in the pricing section on the homepage. Your free trial starts as soon as you sign up. No card needed.

It runs in the browser and installs on iOS, Android and desktop straight from there. It keeps working when the connection drops, which matters in a walk-in or a loading bay.

    Your data

Every business’s data is kept separate from every other one. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The privacy policy says exactly what we collect and why.
